How do explain being ateenage mum on a cv

I am writing a cv and know what people will think. I had my child at 17, just after leaving school. i am now 26 and have worked at the same company since i was 19 working my way up. how do i make it sound good to an employer?
Answer1:i think its great youve been with the same company, it shows commitment, being a team player.being a teenage mum is not uncommon, dont worry too much about it.
Answer2:You should not put that you are a single parent on your C.V. It is a summary of all of your qualifications from your previous work experience and education. It is commendable that you have worked at the same company for 7 years, and this would be a valuable asset to another company. It makes you look committed and hard-working. It also looks good that you were successful enough in your positions to be promoted. The fact that you have a child may come up during the interview, but it is illegal for an interviewer to ask about your marriage status. He cannot discriminate against you for becoming a parent at 17. To be honest, it could easily look like you had a baby at 18. All he needs to know is what would make you a good employee at their company and why you want to work for them. Do not give him any reasons to discriminate you. If you have a gap on your C.V. because you took time off to have a baby, explain this only if he asks.Your personal life has nothing to do with why or why not you are qualified for the job. Explain what makes you a good employee, explain what you want out of the position and how that can be successful for the company. Becoming a teenage parent does not make you unqualified for a job, so dont let it. And, of course, good luck!

For a job interview, would it be a good idea to have nice, clean nails

or can I keep my polish on as long as its not chipped, or does it matter?
Answer1:If your nail polish is neutral and they look acceptable then its fine. If they are anything out of the ordinary (ie not french polished or very light in colour) then you should take it off.
Answer2:I think it is better to be understated at an interview. Clear nail polish is best if you feel you wish to wear it, however if it is a food environment, it is probably best to have nude nails as it would be considered a contaminent. You need to look professional, not as though you are ready for a night out, and the interviewer should be listening to what you have to say, not be wondering why you have worn inappropriate polish on your nails.Best of luck with your interview.

Applying for a job at the Wal Walgreens I got fired from the job b4 last Will admitting it hurt my chances

im 19 in college, if that matters.
Answer1:Yes, they will check and it will hurt your chances. To get around it dont list that job on your application or if you do, you can use a family member or friends contact info as your supervisor. Just give them a heads up first so they can expect the call;) Good luck!!
Answer2:Just tell them you gave notice and they told you to leave immediately. Never go into any detail why you left any job. As my father always told me, if you dont open your mouth, you cant get in trouble.
      Answer3:i wish i can get a job

I need to know the law regarding references

I need a letter of reference from my previous employer for a job Im applying for but there was some bad feeling when I left last year. I was employed on a 6 month contract but for good reason decided to give a weeks notice (stated in my contract) and leave 2 weeks early. They were not happy and didnt even speak to me on my last day of employment. I have asked them for a letter of reference and I need to know where I stand and what I can do if they refuse or I am given a lame one i.e She was adequate in her job. Which to be honest is very undeserved as I was excellent at what I did, and had a good relationship with my employers until I left early. Are there any legal eagles who can help me? Or anyone in the know would be good too!! :oD
      Answer1:Check out DirectGovhttp://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/S...
Answer2:Usually employers will only give a reference to another employer, so if you get another job they will apply for it. Your previous employer cannot say anything bad about you in the reference, its usually just tick boxes. They can however not send a reference, but you are not going to know until you are offered another job.Good luck.
Answer3:Im not sure which country you are in. But Ive worked in a few countries and it seems to be standard that employers will either choose to write you a reference or choose to be called. Some bigger companies have policies where only a statement of attainment ( a statement with your dates of work and your role title) is provided. So if its a big company, contact HR for a statement of attainment. If not, you can ask a recruitment agent to call for a reference for you, see what the employer says. You can just say to new employers, the job was great, loved it, but it was only temp. When I gave notice to leave, the boss turned nasty. Which was disapointing as Id enjoyed my time there but there was no room for growth, so I decided to move on.
Answer4:There is no legal requirement for an employer to give a reference at all. If they do give one, the only legal requirement is that what is said has to be accurate and honest. This can allow them to word things in such a way as to appear lame but, due to some high profile cases where ex-employers have done a hatchet job and been sued, I can understand why they do this rather than risk the litigation. The least helpful references are those that simply confirm the dates when a person worked for a company. Again, there seems to be a trend towards doing this.
Answer5:If they refuse to give you one, theres nothing you can do because theyre not required by law to give a reference. If they were to use a word like "adequate" when you think that you are deserving of better than this - well, sorry, but thats simply your opinion! The person giving the reference may not agree. A word like "adequate" implies that you could do the job to a good enough standard and you probably didnt have any issues ongoing regarding your behaviour and so on. Therefore, its pretty hard to argue with that. You may think that the sun shines out of your own *** but that doesnt mean that others agree!A reference can only contain factual information OR it can contain opinions provided that the person giving the reference makes it clear that it is an opinion. In your particular case, this employer would certainly be within their rights to mention that you were employed on a fixed-term contract but did not complete it.One question that is very often asked of employers giving references is "would you re-employ this person?" and it sounds like youd probably get a no there, which will speak volumes.
Answer6:Reference has to be honest. That is the only real rule. There is no law which says they have to give one, if you left on bad terms then they can just say, "so and so worked here from xxx to xxx."

Is it me or is everyone finding it hard 2 get a job

i just cant seem 2 find a job everywhere just has nothing is anyone else having trouble please help
      Answer1:Everyone.
Answer2:With a hat like that! Id employ you tomorrow!
      Answer3:Nope, Its you
Answer4:Theres a recession on right now, didnt you know? Everyone is chasing the same jobs and half the jobs are not there anymore as businesses are cutting down on staff.
Answer5:Global economic problems means both the UK are struggling, and overseas companies based in the UK are struggling... it is tough but they are out there... Good luck.
Answer6:Yep, I think we are all having trouble. It really sucks at the moment. I left my job before the whole financial crisis to travel and now I just cant get work. Ive applied for so many jobs I cant even remember where Ive applied. Im going crazy with boredom (and being poor). Its a bad time to be looking for work....
Answer7:Everyone is in the same boat. Qualifications and experience count for nothing now. You have to be a foreigner to get work in England at the moment.
Answer8:recession my dear! that means job losses.
Answer9:Yeah, its the credit crunch. Ive been looking for a part time job for a year now and I havent got one so Im really annoyed because I need just some money for treats etc. Im counting on my Education Maintenance Allowance at college and I cant always rely on that, so .. Youre not the only one!
Answer10:There are jobs, but have you seen the pay and conditions! I dont know how people are supposed to manage on minimum wages, irregular hours, no sick pay, insecurity of employment, and by the time you pay travelling expenses to get there you are out of pocket. A lot of the jobs are less than 16 hours a week so the employers dont have to pay NI contributions. Nobody should have to put up with this in the 21st Century!
Answer11:Yes. Ive applied for a total of 722 jobs and got one interview! Its so depressing, each time i open my email to another rejection letter i just want to cry!
Answer12:It is NOT difficult to get a job.You just have to be willing to settle. The is NO excuse for any healthy person in the UK to not be employed.
Answer13:Im the same, I lost my job in October and I expected it to only take a few weeks! Unfortunately everything I apply for, so do 100 others!I went to the job centre though, the day I lost my job, thinking theyd you know, help me find a job. And they dont, it seems like all they do is talk about benefits. Wasnt there once upon a time when they actually helped you find work? I expected them to phone up people and get me some interviews or something? But nope, actually, when I asked the lady there laughed and said "oh no, it doesnt work like that!".Ok The Bane. Find me a job then. Pretend to be me and get me an interview, for anything! If its that easy you should find it no problem.
Answer14:companies are panicking and a lot of the Directors are doing runners with the firms money even before the liquidators are called. Everybody is finding it hard to get work. The DHSS or whatever theyre called now are making it virtually impossible to get the dole/benefits. I knew this was going to happen back in June last year. I was ready for it. Things will get better if they dont Britain, Ireland and the rest of Western Europe are screwed.Just have to stay positive, i seen some positive signs a few weeks ago at the airport. Normally the place was full of immigrants coming in, this time they were all outbound. Thats good for eastern Europe their economy is strong so now maybe we can get down to the serious business of trading goods not people.
Answer15:There is an economic crisis going on right about now so managers and owners of businesses are reluctant to spend money out of their budget. The whole recruiting process costs a lot of money - from the interview to the induction let alone getting paid. Why dont you try the Sainsburys website www.sainsburys.co.uk and go to the career section - jobs are added daily and I am a witness. I found a job and applied online and today Ive been told I have been successful. You should try it too as there are loads of benefits.
