How do I turn my age into a positive
Answer1:talk about your job experiences -references its gonna help
Answer2:If you are good at sales act like getting a job is a sale. I am 50 & going through that now. I took time off & I was worried about what I would do to get a job. Well, then I remembered that a good marketing person knows how to get what they want. I was looking through ads & noticed my former boss had an ad out for a customer service rep. so I called him & he told me that job isnt right for me I belong in sales. Well, sales is not as good for me. I wont get the reg. paycheck & benefits, etc. So I have to figure out what I want as if I am selling. He asked me to give him a few days. I think he is going to offer me a sales job. So I have to think about him (all good sales people understand that) & know what my value will be to him. I have to think about potential doubts he will have & be ready to tell him why he is wrong about those things. Well, not like that but you know, I have to market myself. You can do this without your age getting in the way. Show that your age is a plus. You have that motivation to build a strong foundation for your life. People your age are like cheer leaders. You still have enthusiasm. Think of why someone your age is better than any other age but you dont have to mention this just show it.
Answer3:At this time in the job market it is harder than normal I think. You can mention your experience and your degree in your cover letter and hopefully if you are called for an interview you can overcome your age issue. I would just stay positive and not worry about the age part.
Answer4:Its crucial to have a great resume, it is worth taking the time to create something that looks brilliant and does the job well. Alternatively you could try making a living from Google just like me!! Check out the website below.
Answer5:I would emphasize my achievements, such as graduating early. I would also talk about having a high level of energy and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. Another thing is to be eager to learn new things.
Answer6:Dont bring up your age; the potential employer cant legally ask your age. In most states all they can legally ask is if you are over 18. Just state that youre a college senior studying marketing, the year you graduated high school, and the dates you were employed. Let them assume youre early twenties. Dont mention you graduated two years early. State your GPA or the fact you were an honors student. The age discrimination act was intended to protect people over 40 but it applies to both ends of the spectrum.
