Are there any organizations that will pay for a lawyers fee

facing eviction after 28 yrs, landlord still accepting rent. this case involves succession rights in a Mitchell Lama apt. judge gave me one month to get attorney to take it to the Appellate court thinks I have a great chance to win. thanks god bless.
Answer1:Im shocked you were not advised you can actually secure a court appointed attorney (its not just for criminal acts.) You can also get in touch with The Legal Aid Society; however, since you only have 30 days thats not much time and you would have to petition the court to grant you an extension and show proof you have gone to LAS. By the way. There are no organizations that pick up the tab for your personal legal fees.

Try Law Help.org/NY (http://lawhelp.org/NY/ ) and click on "housing" and type in your zip code. It is possible that you live in an area covered by one of the free legal services.
